Last updated: August 18, 2026

Tahoe Hosting Co. ("Tahoe Hosting," "we," "us," or "our") provides short-term rental management and cohosting services in the Lake Tahoe area. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (tahoehosting.co), our owner, guest, and service-provider portals, and the services we operate on your behalf.

1. Information we collect

We collect information depending on how you interact with us:

  • Property owners: name, email, phone, mailing address, property details and access information, payout/banking details (processed by our payment provider), tax information, and the contents of your communications with us.
  • Guests: name, contact details, booking and stay information, and the content of guest messages handled through the platforms we manage. Most guest data originates from the booking platform (e.g., Airbnb, VRBO) and connected property-management systems.
  • Service providers (cleaners, contractors): name, contact details, service areas and availability, skills and credentials, insurance and license information, references, payout details (processed by our payment provider), and photos you upload to document completed work.
  • Website visitors: information you submit through our contact or audit-request forms (name, email, message), and standard technical data such as IP address and browser type collected by our hosting and infrastructure providers.

2. How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, and improve our management and cohosting services.
  • Respond to guest messages, coordinate cleanings, maintenance, and turnovers, and dispatch work to service providers.
  • Process payments to owners and payouts to service providers.
  • Communicate with you about your property, bookings, jobs, and account.
  • Verify service-provider eligibility, credentials, and insurance.
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Our use of artificial intelligence (AI)

We use third-party AI services to help operate the platform. Specifically, AI is used to help draft and respond to guest messages and to help review photos submitted to document cleaning and property condition. AI-generated guest responses are governed by rules we configure, and sensitive or emergency messages are escalated to a real person. AI does not make final decisions about payments, and messages involving safety or emergencies are always routed to a human. The AI provider processes this content on our behalf as a service provider and does not use it to train its models for other customers.

4. Third-party service providers

We share personal information with trusted third parties who process it on our behalf to provide the service. These include, among others:

  • Hostaway — property management and channel/booking integration
  • Stripe — payment processing and payouts
  • Twilio — SMS notifications
  • Resend — transactional email
  • Formspree — website contact-form submissions
  • PriceLabs — dynamic pricing
  • Anthropic — AI processing for guest messaging and photo review
  • Neon, Vercel, and Railway — database and application hosting
  • Truvi — guest damage protection

We do not sell your personal information. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. Uploaded photos and documents are retained for operational and record-keeping purposes and are deleted when no longer needed or upon a valid deletion request, unless we are required to retain them. You may request deletion of your information as described below.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to know how it is used and shared, and to opt out of certain processing. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

7. Data security

We use administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.

10. Contact us
